CEBU CITY - Eighteen-year-old Niña Claire Rivaca will not be singing on Day 4 of the Sinulog Idol 2014 after failing to make the cut Sunday night at the Fuente Osmeña Circle.

Rivaca, a BS Psychology student from the University of San Carlos, failed to impress the judges with her rendition of Christina Aguilera's “Come on Over”.

Judge Ryan Mark Borinaga was also not impressed by Niña's performance last night saying that the upbeat genre is "not for her".

Sunday night's "upbeat" genre proved to be a challenge for the 12 contestants as they were not only judged by their musicality but also for their ability to bring the upbeat energy to their performance.

Maisee Mariel S. Fernandez who performed Jennifer Lopez’s “Live It Up” was declared the “Star of the Night” while Ruthsel Cano and Michael Jay Morales also came out strong along with Maisee emerging in the top three.

Meanwhile, Sun.Star website at will stream live the event every night until the Sinulog Idol Season 5 grand finals on Thursday, January 16.

The replays of the live streaming can be viewed at (Buen Josef Andrade/Sunnex)
