THREE policemen were injured in a misencounter with local security forces in Luuk town in Sulu on Saturday.

Colonel Jose Johriel Cenabre, commander of the 2nd Marine Brigade, said the conflict was pacified by the town mayor and marine units.

Cenabre said acting provincial police chief Senior Superintendent Abraham Orbita and provincial public safety company commander Chief Inspector Randall Lyon Buena and their men were on their way out of the Tanduh Bato wharf when the miscounter with the local peacekeeping action team occured around 10:20 a.m.

It was not immediately clear which initiated the 45-minute firefight.

Cenabre said the slightly injured policemen are from the provincial public safety company.

He said the policemen were already discharged from the hospital. (VR/Sunnex)
