10-year-old boy dies in Ermita, Cebu fire

HEAVY rains since early Saturday (January 11) morning failed to put out a fire that killed a 10-year-old boy in Barangay Ermita, Cebu City.

About 100 structures in Sitio Warwick Barracks in Barangay Ermita were destroyed by the fire that started at 10:38 a.m. Saturday. The Cebu City Fire Department said the blaze was declared out only at 4:58 p.m.

Radio and television reports said the fire started from the house of a certain Jeffrey Dalugdog.

Firefighters found charred remains of the 10-year-old boy inside his uncle's house, Davinci Maru of Sun.Star Cebu said on Twitter.
