MANILA -- As two weather systems continue to affect the country, Eastern Visayas, the Caraga and Northern Mindanao will likely experiene light to moderate rain and thunderstorms on Wednesday, state weather forecasters said.

In its 5 a.m. bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that the trough of a low pressure area (LPA) remains hovering over Mindanao while the Northeast Monsoon (Hanging Amihan) directly affects Luzon.

Pagasa said that the skies over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated light rain.

Meanwhile, the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain or thunderstorms.

Pagasa also said that moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast will prevail over the eastern sections of Southern Luzon and of Visayas and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough.

Elsewhere in the country, winds will be light to moderate coming from the northeast with slight to moderate seas, it added.

The state weather bureau also issued a gale warning over the seaboards of Southern Luzon and Visayas.

It warned, "Strong to gale force winds is expected to affect the eastern seaboards of Southern Luzon and of Visayas."
