A SUDANESE man was arrested by operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) during a search operation in Baguio City.

The search operation also resulted in the seizure of Valium tablets and marijuana hashish, authorities said Wednesday.

PDEA chief Arturo Cacdac Jr. named the suspect as Wadah Mohamed Elwasila Elsadig, alias Mards, 22, single, a native of Shandi City, Sudan, with permanent address at Mohayl City, Saudi Arabia. Elsadig is a third year college student of AMA Computer College, Baguio City and presently residing at No. 33 Dahlia Street, Upper QM, Baguio City.

Cacdac said the suspect was nabbed last Sunday by PDEA Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) and PNP Criminal Investigation Detection Group officers that implemented a search warrant, issued by a Baguio City court, inside Elsadig's boarding house.

Confiscated from the suspect's possession were one blister pack of Valium (Diazepam) containing six tablets of 10 milligram per tablet, one empty blister pack of Diazepam, one medium plastic zip lock containing dark brown substance suspected to be marijuana hashish weighing five grams placed in a brown wooden ash tray, one brown rectangular bar of suspected marijuana hashish weighing 13.02 grams wrapped in transparent plastic placed inside a cigarette box, and one brown rectangular bar of suspected marijuana hashish placed in a transparent plastic with an estimated weight of 14.94 grams.

The suspect is temporarily detained at the PDEA-CAR jail facility. He will be facing charges for violation of Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Article II, of Republic Act 9165, or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (VR/Sunnex)
