RACING scion Iñigo Anton just won't stop from winning.

After winning the FORS Shakedown race car event, the 10 year old Castrol-Yokohama young driver won the 2nd round of the Formula Cadet Novice division at Carmona Race Track in appalling conditions brought about by the low pressure area.

Anton had to quickly learn how to drive his Kart Plaza prepared Formula Cadet in torrential rain for the time trials and qualified second on the grid beside pole sitter Constantin Reisch from Austria.

The young Anton backed by Edgesport, Works Bell, Mark Young Racing then bounced and win in the qualifier and pre-final heats putting him on pole for the finals.

The weather however turned for the worse and under the wettest conditions, Anton lost the lead early to Reisch but regained momentum in the third lap and held it until he spun out at the hairpin in lap 5.

This gave the lead back to Reisch and Anton had to play catch up until lap 9 when he finally got past Reisch for the lead. Reich then lost control and crashed out in the last turn handing 2nd place to Kristine Yokoyama with Anton’s team mate Maverick Corpuz taking the final podium position.

“I am so happy with the win. It was really hard driving in the super slippery conditions. I thought my race was over when I spun out. Thank God I was still able to catch Constantin (Reisch) and win,” Anton said after the race who is also backed by JSD Autosport, Special Stage, Autoshack, Kart Plaza and View Park Hotel.

“Iñigo has really enjoyed karting. It has also helped him become a better race car driver whenever he gets back into the full size race cars in Clark,” his champion racer father Carlos Anton said.
