ARNOLD Tacdol sealed an 82-point outing with a single bull, a 17, and a double 20 with his teammate Max Tudlong to clinch a successful victory against Joden Oblades and Nelson Uligan in the recently held T2 E darts tournament at the Tangay Tangay in Nevada Square August 4.
The La Trinidad darts duo displaced hopes for the city based darters, who gave up the best of three 501 game after snatching a decider aimed to bring home the tournament title, P6,500 cash purse, plus trophies.
Tacdol and Tudlong waited at the winner’s bracket after finishing the overmatched Willy Omli, the highest national rated player present on that night, who could not get the best out of Tonton Dongonan falling to the top of the losers bracket.
The La Trinidad duo earlier disposed Bryan Gangpao and Jun Urbano after surviving round two of the best of three 501 winners bracket final four.
Tudlong, on the go at a 220 with the opposing pair already about to close, marked a triple 20, a triple 20 and another triple 20 for a possible double top closer.
Urbano failed to cash out as Tacdol easily pressed his first pin, setting up the finale in the winner’s bracket against Omli and Dongonan who beat off Uligan and Oblades, 2-1, in the last four of the winner’s side.
Oblades put away a double 18 outing as he and Uligan topped Che Guerrero and Marco Magno, while Urbano and Gangpao beat Cherokee Guerrero and CI Mutz for the second to last match in the losers side after matching with Omli and Dongonan.
Oblades and Uligan settled for the second place finish with the P3,500 prize, Omli and Dongonan salvaged the P2,000 third place prize, while Gangpao and Urbano settled for the P1,600 reward in a tournament backed by the Baguio Apaches.
