All systems go for CHESAA opening-A A +A

BARRING any glitches, the 13th season of the Cordillera Higher Education Athletic Association opening is all set on September 5.
Season 13 host Kings College of the Philippines president Ricardo Umayam said opening ceremonies for the season is halfway ready with Cordillera Career Development College as venue.
"So far we are all excited to launch the season with KCP as host, we are just about to deliberate some minor matters and it is all good to go," Umayam said.
Six sport competitions will be included during the first phase of CHESAA including basketball, chess, cheering contest, darts, arnis, and scrabble.
“All member school are really working hard to make this season a success. So far a lot of our member schools are actively participating in planning for all the scheduled activities,” Umayam quipped.
Umayam said after the opening ceremonies, a cheerdance contest will ensue followed by the and opening games for basketball.
Aside from KCP and CCDC, CHESAA member schools include AMA College, Baguio College of Technology, Baguio School of Business and Technology, Benguet Vocational School, Data Center College of the Philippines, Easter College Inc., NIIT-Baguio, Philippine Nazarene College, Philippine Women’s University, and HML College.
Chesaa was formed for the smaller colleges to compete in various team and individual sports events to promote camaraderie and team building among their students.
Sports events, which are expected to see action in this year’s season, also include volleyball, table tennis, badminton, billiards, tae kwon do, and arnis.
A literary-musical competition is also added in the annual sports meet, which will also include dance sports and the annual Mister and Miss Chesaa competition.
