UNDEFEATED super bantamweight Rex Wa-o is being rumored to fight in an upcoming bout later this month.

But Wa-o's manager, Brico Santig of the Highland Boxing gym in La Trinidad has yet to confirm the bout as talks are currently underway.

"We are currently under negotiation yet. Nothing is final but hopefully we can stage the fight," said Santig.

Wa-o is fresh from a 10 round decision against Jovil Marayan on May 25 improving his boxing record to a clean nine victories, including seven knockouts.

With the recent victory, Wa-o captured the Asian Boxing Federation featherweight strap.

The fighting pride of Tadian, Mountain Province once held the interim WBC Asian Boxing Council super bantamwieght title on May 2013 after stopping Danilo Gabisay in the second round of their scheduled 12 round encounter.

However, the 24-year-old took a nine month layoff before returning to action in February this year to earn his eighth win via a six round stoppage of Gerry Patenio.

But even without the confirmation , Santig said Wa-o has been working in the gym since his last bout with just a week of vacation in his home province.
