"SUCCESS comes to those who don’t just work for it, but for those who works harder for it". It just simply means when everybody is working and putting 100% effort, you must try harder to succeed.

Goals in life do not come as easy as we think; one has to overcome obstacles and circumstances just to get it although sometimes success come easy for some but the feeling of hard-earned success and its long-lasting existence is so different.

A climb to success they say sometimes is like enduring the perils of a steep mountain to reach the top, but according to those who were there, those who have survived the perils of the climb, what awaits on top eradicates all bad experiences along the way and reap the reward would be so breathtaking and worth it.

In the just concluded Philippine Olympic Committee and Philippine Sports Commission 2014 Philippine National Games (POC-PSC 2014 PNG) held in Marikina City May 16-25, 2014, the Baguio Arnis All Stars have reached another miles stone in their chosen sport as they retained the over-all championship to elevate Baguio Arnis to a three peat status holding on to the championship for the third straight time.

This year’s POC-PSC PNG saw the inclusion of the 15-17 years old athletes to battle side by side their seniors counterparts and they have proven to be a force to reckon with as they helped retain this year’s over-all championship bagging 7 of the 11 Gold Medals for Baguio Arnis All Stars, after their dominance in the past tournaments prior to the PNG (Batang Pinoy Regionals and Nationals, 1st Pampanga National Arnis Championship, and the PSC All Women’s National Festival of Martial Arts) the 2014 Philippine National Games Seals their status as one of the country’s best junior Arnisadores.

This year is a good year for Team Baguio Arnis as their hard work and sacrifices are rewarded following the success of Team Baguio in the recent Palarong Pambansa held in Laguna and the most recent success in the 2014 PNG where juniors in the Arnis event have been included for the first time besting Team Cebu City, Team Lapu-Lapu, Team Mandaue, Team RTU, Team TCU, Team Pasig, Team Pasay, Team Marikina, Team Cainta, Team Valenzuela, Team Dasmariñas Cavite, Team Airforce, Team Viscaya, Team Mountain Province, Team Gen. Santos City, Team Iloilo City, Team Iloilo Province, Team Maasin City, Team Zamboanga and Team Davao.

Arnisadores of Baguio have truly came a long way as it continuously showcase Baguio’s finest talents in Arnis in every competition it participates. Thank you to all those who prayed for the team and to those who continue to support them, the parents, teachers, principals, families and friends.

Special mention to Al Bon Likigan, Sir Gene Batan, Arthur, Sir Dean Carantes, Punong Lakan Nicolas, Maam Rani Tosoc, Maam Tess and Maam Everdina Deo-ay if not for your generosity sirs and madams, the team would not have survived 10 days in Marikina, Good bless you all!
