RETIREMENT may still be far from Eduard Folayang's mind although his next return to the One Fighting Championship cage won’t be a fight.

Folayang will instead be at the corner of fellow Team Lakay fighter Honorio Banario who is set to battle Mongolian contender Narantungalag Jamdabaa on the 30th at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Former One FC featherweight champion Banario returns to the ring this as he tries to bounce back from back-to-back losses against Japanese tormentor Oishi Koji with regular cornerman and coach Mark Sangiao who will be in Brazil to supervise Mark Eddiva’s UFC fight.

“It’s a new experience to me. I’m just hoping we get the win,” said the lightweight contender Folayang.

Folayang is coming off a huge win in his last One FC outing by scoring a unanimous victory against former lightweight champion Japanese Kotetsu Boku.

Folayang’s improved wrestling skills swung the bout in his favor and improved his record to 14 wins and 4 loss scoring his back to back victories in One FC.

Banario and Folayang will be leaving the country on Tuesday for the One FC event dubbed "Honor and Glory" featuring American Ben Askren and Azerbaijan's Bakhtiyar Abbsov in the superfight with Singapore's Eddie Ng facing off VIncent Latoel of Indonesia in the co-main event.

Meanwhile, the former champion promised to return with a bang as he seeks his winning ways after getting knocked out in May and December of last year.

“I’m eager to return to the cage and this time, I’ll try not to commit the same mistakes I have done in my last two fights,” said the soft spoken Mankayan, Benguet native.

One FC, which returns to Singapore is redefining the mixed martial arts landscape and close to 12,000 fans will pack out the arena to witness history for its 16th event dubbed Honor and Glory.

“After my two knock-outs, I learned my lesson well and this time I’ll make sure that victory will also be mine,” added Banario.
