Country Club to offer free golf lessons

JUNIOR par buster hopefuls aged six to 15 years are invited to take part in the one-day golf introduction and demonstration to be held at the Baguio Country Club fairways May 25.

Dubbed “Learn the Game of Golf at the Baguio Country Club”, the short and tricky rolling course designed by Luis Golem Silverio and one of the homes of the annual Fil-Am Invitational Golf Tournament are inviting all interested children for the free golf clinic.

Organized by the Baguio Junior Golf Association in partnership with the Baguio Country Club the free golf tutorial demo will be headed by professional golfer John Agaya and the BJGA alumni.


BCC recreations manager Roanne Garcia said the main purpose of the activity is to help increase golfers and golf enthusiasts from the city.

“With this free tutorial and demo, we would like to build new and young talents in golf from Baguio,” Garcia said.

Garcia added the activity aims to encourage youngsters to be inclined with sports mainly with golf.

“This is an open registration, walang slots to be filled up kaya we are really expecting a lot of participants,” Garcia added.

The clinic will offer primary training and lessons of golf, including golf club gripping, swinging, posture and balance, plus basic tips.

Lessons will be held at the BCC golf Academy Driving Range, first batch will start at 9 to 11am and second batch will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Registration is open daily and will end on May 23.

Organizers said all equipment will be provided by the BJGA, including free snacks and live demonstration by the child-friendly BJGA alumni.
