Anton resets Clark record

ACE RACE car driver Carlos Anton broke his own record in another epic race at the Clark International Raceway recently after clocking in an unbelievable 2 min 3.229 seconds in round two of the Circuit Showdown series.

“The Mark Young-Works Bell CRX ran almost perfect today and the conditions were just right but I am also in disbelief that we went almost 2 seconds faster than my last record at this track.” Anton said after his run using a 230 horsepower engine built by Mohspeed.

Anton then went on to win the Braket-A class using the Works Bell Porsche 991 setting the 2nd fastest time of the day at 2 min 11.881 seconds beating out ForceSpeeds Eggy Ong who settled for third overall with a time of 2 min 13.000.


Ong went on to finish in 2nd place during the Grid A race the following day.
Inigo Anton, the youngest race car driver in the series, finished 5th in Bracket F and beat 17 other racers during his run.

“Inigo has a great future ahead of him and improves his lap times with every race, I’m sure he will be beating me very soon.” Anton said of his son.
The Antons are also backed by Cars Unlimited, Hornitex, Autoshack, Special Stage, Ethanworx, View Park Hotel.

Anton earlier copped the driver of the year plum in the Automobile Association of the Philippines annual awards night at the Manila International Auto Show.

The Castrol -Yokohama Champion race car driver Anton received the top driver plum for the last six years for hill climb racing before deciding to go back to circuit racing.

Ethanworx-Woks Bell Japan was instrumental in his return to the circuit who piloted their car for Division 1 in the Philippine Touring Car Championship.
Anton dominated the series snatching pole in every qualifying and won a total of 8 of the 12 races during the season.

The Baguio based restaurateur is the country’s most diverse and talented driver of his generation winning titles in eight different disciplines over the last 25 years of his career that include Slalom, Karting, Autocross, Rallycross, Touring Cars, Time Attack, Formula Cars, and Hillclimb.
