Goshenland FC holds clinic

THE thriving sport of football continues its growth in the Summer Capital with Cordillera Goshenland Football Club recently opening its football clinic for young kids.

The clinic which opened April 1 and will end on the 12th will cater to children ages 4-12 years with students from Brent, Dona Aurora Elementary School, Small World Christian School Foundation, Hope Christian School and SPED.

With a minimal payment of P50 per session with free use of CGFC football equipment, kids will learn the character building value of team playing and relationships.


Goshenland FC has always emphasized character over skill and talent as one of its training philosophies as the summer football clinic tackle technical skills in football for the enrollees.

The clinic also include an over-all understanding of football as a team sport, and age appropriate skills training on dribbling, shooting, passing, juggling based on the FIFA Football Grassroots program.

According to Goshenland FC in their Facebook account, the clinic it also an excellent way to make kids healthy while having fun and gaining friends.

Parents who enrolled their kids previously in the clinic say their kids were able to overcome constant respiratory tract diseases while football provides an alternative to an addiction to computer gaming and their getting glued to gadgets.

Coaches handling the clinic have FIFA Grassroots Coaching License who are active football players and have been at the forefront of developing the city's grassroots football program as volunteers, in coordination with DEP-ED.

Former Ateneo standouts Arieston Bocalan and Gatan Dalang leads the cast of coaches in the summer football clinic.

Bocalan and Dalang are former players of the Philippine Futsal National Team, Philippine Football team, Ateneo Football Team and the La Salle Football Team. Bocalan is currentely the coach of the Baguio City National High School and at the same time will be coaching the CARAA football and futsal team who will see action in the upcoming Palarong Pambansa in Laguna province.
