MIX MARTIAL arts (MMA) fans continue to pour in their support for Mark Eddiva who will make his return to the sport and at the same time debut in the world’s largest MMA promotions UFC.

Eddiva is set to square off against Macau's Jumabieke Tuerxun in the undercard of The Ultimate Fighter China finale March 1 (Sunday) at the Cotai Arena.

Several Team Lakay supporters have in fact changed their cover photo in social networking site Facebook in support of the second pure blooded Filipino fighter to be signed by UFC.

"As a support, we make Mark Eddiva our cover photo! Go Team Lakay! Go Mark Eddiva! Pilipinas for the win," said mma fan and Team Lakay supporter Bienvinido Andaya Jr. in his Facebook account.

The bemedalled SEAG athlete’s five wins came from three knock outs and two submissions where he last fought January 27 in 2011 when he submitted Alex Lee in round 1 in Legend Fighting Championship 4.

Eddiva must overome all odds against the veteran Tuerxun who boasts of 14 undefeated fights in mma as compared to the 27 year old Igorot wushu–sanda champion with five victories under his belt.

"As with other fights, he'll be quite a challenge, especially because he is an undefeated champion. On the positive side, that's added motivation, and hopefully I'll be able to bring home the win," Eddiva was quoted saying in the UFC webpage.

The BS Education major at the University of the Cordilleras will be the second Team Lakay fighter to see action in UFC after Dave Galera was signed by the promotion late last year.

Although Eddiva has not fought in the last two years, coach Mark Sangiao said he remains in high hope of a victory this time after Galera failed to snatch a win in the UFC the last time out adding although there’s a little effect in his skills and conditioning during that two year absence.

“We’re all good. He has made weight already and we’re ready for fight night,” Sangiao told Sun*Star Baguio.

The Macau fight will already be UFC’s 2nd event in Asia in 2014 with nine fights, six on the main card looking to bounce back from recent losses. It features a main event between two rising welterweights looking to break into the top 10 of the division.

Headlined by an East-West clash of world-class welterweights between South Korea’s “Stun Gun” Dong-Hyun Kim and England’s John “The Hitman” Hathaway, the fight night will kick off five main card bouts as well as four undercard bouts featuring fighters from Asia, Europe, North and South America at weight classes varying from bantamweight to heavyweight.
