DONTOGAN Women’s Association stayed on top of the team standings following their four set victory the last time out in the Baguio City National High School-Special Program for Sports Invitational Volleyball Tournament-Executive Division.

Dontogan closed the eliminations round with flare after a 25-10, 22-25, 25-22, 25-7 win against City Hall for a record of six wins and one loss.

Baguio College of Technology, who earlier gave Dontogan their first loss of the season fell to number two after racking up their second defeat against Benguet Electric Cooperative, 25-3, 20-25, 25-15, 25-16.

The power distributor however is hanging on to dear life for a semis seat if they win against City Hall tonight.

A loss by Beneco would boot them out of the semis race with BCNHS, who has 4-3 record will earn the last seat. City High earlier defeated the power distributor to give them the upper hand in the standings.

Tournament director Ortez Gabol said he expects the outcomes to be amusing.

“Medyo maraming turn of events ang nangyari at puwede pang mangyari before the eliminations closes, well that will be a thing to look forward to,” Gabol said.

“We hope to stage more exciting games in the semis and more sa finals,” Gabol said.

BCNHS-SPS Invitational Volleyball Tournament, originally titled Donaal’s Cup, is now on its third year which kicked off November last year and expected to end on February 15.

Other teams participating for this season are Commission on Audit (1-6) and Rizal National High School (0-7).
