Dumo powers Dagsian against BEAT-A A +A

LOUIE Dumo dropped his first three-pointer for Dagsian United when needed the most to turn back BEAT at the close of the eliminations round in bracket A of 1st Budz Cup Invitational Basketball tournament 2013.
Dumo landed a big three with 52.9 seconds after missing all his triples in the entire game to post a 73-71 victory at the Easter College gymTuesday evening.
“Medyo minamalas ang buong team sa pag-convert ng points all throughout sa game, pero we were able to create a good offensive and defensive plays before the buzzer,” said a cheerful Dagsian coach Joel Ferrer.
“Actually parang lucky shot na rin yung three pointer ni Louie, dun kami unang nakalamang sa score and maganda ang naging result since medyo na-rattle yung kabila,” Ferrer added.
Trailing by 10 at the start of the pay-off canto, 48-58, Dagsian U forced its way back to the with Dumo, Johnson Carlos, and Carlo Munoz came up with a combined 12 points to cut BEAT’s lead to a single digit, 62-65, with 4:4- remaining in the ball game.
Clifford Panayo however extended BEAT’s lead with a triple after a one point conversion by Christian Dela Pena from the stripe for a six point bubble, 62-69 with 3:26 left.
Dagsian however rallied anew as Jojo Gabica and Osmena Fayong dropped five more points to stare a two point deficit, 67-69 with 2:04remaining but Al Odra made her two free throws in the ensuing play for a 67-71 count in the 1:10 minute mark.
Fayong then scored on a quick two for a two point ball game, 69-71, as BEAT missed their chance to extend their lead.
Dumo then landed a triple for Dagsian’s first taste of the lead, 72-71 as BEAT missed their four shots during their possession with Munoz scoring another free throw to nail the victory.
Dave Sumadchat scored 13 points including six points for Beat in the first quarter to trail Dagsian U, 16-26, while Odra and Dennis Villanes chipped in 14 points each as Beat remained in front before closing the first half, 36-45.
Carlos scored a game high for Dagsian with 18 points including eight rebounds, while Dumo and Munoz converted 11 and 13 points, respectively.
