FOR a seasoned coach and trainer, the potential is seen like "love at first sight."

The moment you lay eyes on an athlete, you can readily judge his future in their sports.

But what separates first impression assessment is the heart of an athlete which surprises critics and non-believers.

Let us face it, there are athletes that are shun with the possibility of being great in the future but rise to the challenge with the motivation of not quitting which earns them their rightful place in the stage of the sporting world.

In essence, they might not belong with the greatest but they will prove perception of them is an underestimation of their potential.

Limitations are just perceptions of those people who set boundaries of how and until when they can perform and the time frame they could manage to stay there but a determined athlete pushes his perceived limits and continues to recon a step beyond time.

This are athletes who surprises non-believers and more so themselves, and live to cherish the fruit of their perseverance and no quitting attitude.

The “heart” of every athlete exhumes every skill and attitude needed for battle.

In the world of sports where competitions are trended by seeded athletes, having the advantage over a new face, a “nobody”, a novice, will always be trending, inspirational and sensationalized storyline.

But underestimation will never be a part of the value possessed by an athlete because if they do, a stunning result could haunt them that could even break their spirit and might cause retirement due to heartbreaking loss.

For a long-long time, the realization of the secret ingredients missing in training and performance of every athlete has been puzzling experts.

Low profiled and unrecognized athletes sometimes are not given attention but despite of it all, these athletes, even without winning anything in competition, unpopular, and unsupported in many way still hangs around in their chosen sports longer than those athletes that shoots to fame.

Beyond skills and pedigree, the core of an athlete that extracts many wonders lies on the “heart” that spills out unwavering and resilient aim to get better.
