CHESAA to open table tennis competition

EIGHT teams are set to test each other as they charge to hit the pile-up in the table tennis competition of the 12th season of the Cordillera Higher Education Athletic Association slated January 23-24.

Some 32 student athletes representing their respective schools will try to vie for honors as the annual collegiate competition fire up at the AMA Computer College.

CHESAA 2013 Executive Committee president Vladimir Cayabas said earlier the organizers of the competition are looking forward to a successful staging of the sport.


“We look forward to the success of the table tennis competition as well as the other sport events to be presented by CHESAA,” Cayabas said.
Cayabas brought to encouraged students and other spectators to watch the sports contests.

“We always take pride with our athletes who join in the different sport events, that is why we always encourage everyone to partake and share the experience sa mga events gaya nito," said Cayabas.

"Hopefully the students and public will give full support all throughout sa program ng CHESAA organization until our closing and culminating ceremonies," Cayabas added.

Cayabas added before each of the different sport competitions the tournament managers and officials will conduct a short sports refresher talk as a backgrounder to the various sport events.

“The target is to familiarize each including spectators sa rules and regulations ng mga laro, just to keep a uniform call of judgement lalo na sa athletes and coaches,” Cayabas quipped.

“With that and all, it will also increase the interest ng mga spectators na hindi gaanong acquainted sa kung alin mang sport na catered this season sa CHESAA,” Cayabas quipped.

Other sport activities to be held this season also include volleyball, badminton, athletics, arnis, karatedo, sepak takraw, and litmus competition. The CHESAA board will also showcase during their culminating activity the most awaited Search for Miss CHESAA on March 2014.

School and colleges participating this year include AMA Computer College, Baguio College of Technology, Benguet School of Business and Technology, Benguet Vocational School, Data Center College of the Philippines, Easter College, Kings College of the Philippines, NIIT - Baguio, Philippine Nazarene College, Philippine Women's University, and HML College.
