IT'S that time of year when a zillion people want to play tourist in Baguio. Here are ten reasons that you should go somewhere else:

10. There’s Tagaytay.

9. If you travel from Manila by road, the traffic all the way from there to Baguio will be bumper to bumper.

8. And it will take 10 to 12 hours to finally make it, as it did last Christmas season.

7. When you finally reach Baguio, traffic will again be bumper to bumper wherever you go.

6. Think of all that strrrrreeeessss.

5. It doesn’t have to be Holy Week that you visit our fair city.

4. To follow up on #5, there’s every single week after Holy Week, an entire summer, an entire year, okay.

3. It has become Ab.So.Lute.Ly baduy to be a tourist in Baguio during Holy Week.

2. There’s Manila, Palawan, Cebu, Hongkong, etc. – and will cost the same.

1. Really, you have to be told the real reason?

Not Letterman, though actually, better than many of his tens.

Really, consider Manila. It will be blessedly empty, and perfect for the reflection, retreat, and quiet befitting a week Christendom commemorates to honor the Christ who served humanity with his life and his death.
