SNAP meets stakeholders

SN Aboitiz Benguet gathered stakeholders to re-affirm their commitments.

Benguet government officials, indigenous peoples' groups were invited for SN Aboitiz Power-Benguet’s annual stakeholders’ forum, August 11.

SNAP Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Danny de Guzman presented a detailed report and update on market operations of the Binga and Ambuklao power plants.


De Guzman detailed the present challenges as well as the opportunities which include the Maris and Alimit projects in Ifugao giving emphasis on the value of partnership between the stakeholders and the company.
SN Aboitiz Power is set to build another facility in Ifugao, with a planned development of a 350-megawatt (MW) hydroelectric power facility.

The facility is eyed in the areas of Lagawe or Mayaoyao if all plans go positive, SNAP received from the Department of Energy (DOE) the approved and signed renewable energy service contract (RESC) for an integrated hydropower complex composed of three facilities: the 100-MW Alimit plant, the 240-MW pumped storage facility, and the 10-MW Olilicon plant.

The facilities will be developed under a subsidiary, SNAP-Ifugao.

For Benguet, SNAP Assistant Vice President and Plant Manager Manny Lopez gave a report on the two power plants and updated guests on the safety measures that the company continues to take in their operation and maintenance, while vice president for Corporate Services Mike Hosillos reported on the CSR projects funded by the company to the host communities and set out future plans.

Governor Nestor Fongwan represented the stakeholders in extending gratitude to the company with all the support given to the host communities.
