MAYOR Mauricio Domogan led the Baguio City delegation to Taebek City in South Korea on April 7.

Despite his recent confinement in the hospital and the death of his sister, Domogan told reporters Friday the city government can no longer postpone their sister city visit as it has long been scheduled through coordination with Taebek City organizers.

"We have to go, as in the invitation of Taebek, they have invited us for many times and past invitations have not prospered due to conflict in schedules," he said.

He said Taebek City officials wanted to meet Baguio officials before they conduct their elections in June.

He said expenses for the trip will be shouldered personally by some city officials who joined the trip stressing the City Government will only shoulder expenses of only a few members of the delegation.

The city mayor left the city 10 p.m. Monday after leading the flag raising program at City Hall and will return Friday.

He said the city delegation will also find time to personally thank another sister city, Gongju city in South Korea, for donating 100 computer sets to the City Government.

The computers, which were released only a few months after being held at the Bureau of Customs, will be used by various offices in the City Government.

The mayor said donors from Gongju City had to shoulder customs duties to have the brand new computers released for the local government.

He added the donated computers will have to be upgraded by the city's Management Information System department for installation of appropriate programs for the local government use.

He said they will prioritize offices which need the computers for various operations of the local government.
