INTELLIGENCE operatives from the Baguio City Police Office recently arrested one of the suspects tagged in the murder of a university student seven years ago.

BCPO information officer Police Superintendent Andrew Cayad reported the suspect was arrested by virtue of a warrant issued by the Baguio Regional Trial Court Branch 3 for the murder of Vincent Castañeda Ada-ol who was then a 19-year-old student of the University of the Cordilleras.

Cayad identified the suspect as Emmanuel John Damayan, who was arrested at his residence at San Carlos Heights at Barangay Irisan.

The suspect, who is listed the third most wanted persons in the BCPO watchlist, has been eluding police arrest for several years.

Damayan together with his brother Mario Baldo and brother-in-law Noli Gubiangan were linked in the murder Ada-ol sometime around April 2006 at Purok 4 in Barangay Gibraltar.

Baldo and Gubiangan, who carried a reward of P90,000 each, were earlier arrested by police operatives.

Meantime, BCPO Director Senior Superintendent Jesus Cambay Jr. also reported the arrest of a security guard for illegal possession of firearms after creating trouble and threatening people inside the 3 Kings Bar and Café at Camp 7, Kennon Road, Baguio City recently.

Cambay named the arrested person as Dennis Agsi Buemio Jr., a resident of Poliwes, Baguio City.

Buemio allegedly entered the bar and ordered a bottle of beer and after a few minutes, he allegedly became unruly challenging and threatening the other costumers by drawing-up his handgun.

But the swift and speedy response of the local police resulted in the immediate disarming of the suspect and the confiscation of his caliber .38 revolver loaded with six rounds of ammunition.
