THE Benguet State University (BSU) will soon fete its 275 academically excellent students with general weighted average (GWA) ranging from 1.75 up to 1.342 on April 5 during the achievers recognition day.

Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Percyveranda Lubrica said the GWA topnotcher among the first to fourth years is a student under the College of Agriculture. She is Jessica Rivera a freshman Bachelor of Science in Agriculture student with a GWA of 1.342.

Lubrica added these 275 students are achievers for the second semester 2011–2012 until the first semester of 2012–2013.

Based on the list of achievers as of April 1, the Bachelor of Secondary Education has the highest number of achievers with 84, while the Bachelor of Elementary Education course has 58. The college of Nursing has 26 awardees.

Lubrica said the achievers will receive P500 cash incentive plus academic scholarship grant.

Meanwhile, the BSU will also soon acknowledge its 1,273 graduates under the Bachelor Science course; 59 soon–to–be graduates from Graduate School; 19 students from the Open University; and eight graduates for the diploma programs on April 6.

Lubrica said though they do not have a summa cum laude this year, she said there will be magna cum laude and cum laude graduates to be acknowledge during the graduation ceremony.
