Batch ‘69 dominates 27th SJS-LS bowlfest

BATCH '69 led by Melot “The Steel" Alimon captured "The Silver Cup" of the recently-concluded 27th St. Joseph School-La Salle (SJS-LS) Alumni Interclass Bowling Tournament held at Lopue's East Bowling Center in Bacolod City.

The Bracket B champion defeated Bracket A’s top finisher Batch ‘68 of Dan "The Magician" Corcelles in a showdown of the best teams.

Edgar Alagaban, Carlo Boyero, Neonito Canieso, Boy Geronca, Johnny Garcia, Janet Alimon, Rene Bellera, Ailyn Dayo, Utay Pabon, Boy Pama, and Mariano Zamora spearhead the '69ers while Batch ’68 has Roming Dellomes, Bb Martir, Ed Inson, Mae Memoracion, Larry Leyes, Bert Lampig, Ronald Vega, and Roque Milos.


First runners-up were Batch ‘78 of Elmer Libo-on for Bracket A and Art Palo’s Batch ‘84 for Bracket B. Second runners-up include Gary Laurico’s Batch ‘72 for Bracket A and Ramon Lopez’s Batch ‘71 for Bracket B.

Highest scorers were Jack Palermo of Batch ‘78 for individual pinning with 95 pinfalls while Remo Jareño Jr. of Batch ‘88 (164) for best single game. Batch ‘83’s Jun Lozada scored 406 points for highest triple game.

Azucena Reyes of Batch ‘80 has 94 pinfalls to win the individual pinning as Batch ‘68 Memoracion scored 159 and 422 pinfalls to bag the highest single and triple trophy in women's division, respectively.

Batch ‘84 has 616 pinfalls while Batch ’68 scored 1,725 points to win the team’s single and triple titles.

Named master bowlers are Jareño of Batch ‘88 for the men’s division as Gina Lou Buyco of Batch ‘79 for the distaff side.

Rounding up the Top 10 players in Men’s group are Alimon (Batch ‘69), Lozada (Batch ‘83), Carl Aguda (Batch ‘88), Boy Wingpo (Batch ‘79), Libo-on (Batch ‘78), Isok Villarosa (Batch ‘85), Palo (Batch ‘84), Corcelles (Batch ‘68), and Al Francis Olvida (Batch ‘98).

In the distaff side are Memoracion and Minnie Chua (Batch ‘88), Caroline Yanson (Batch ‘85), Suzette Morales (Batch ‘80), Herminia Trujillo (Batch ‘79), Weena Magturo (Batch ‘78), Ramolita Arinal (Batch ‘84), Carlyn Santia (Batch ‘84), and Rowena Gayona (Batch ‘98).
