Silay tankers shine in 8th SJI swim fest

THE Silay City Swimming Team bagged 19 medals in the 8th SJI Monsignor’s Cup Swim Fest held at Panaad Sport Complex in Bacolod City recently.

Most bemedalled swimmer Alexi Kouzenne Cabayaran took home 3 gold medals and a silver.

Both Christopher James Bentulan and Sach Charlson Castillo won a gold and a bronze each.


Lanz Patrick Despues pocketed a gold and a bronze; Joshua Emplemado, two golds and two bronzes; Akio Reuel Melchor, a gold, a silver and a bronze; John Richard Sayon, 2 bronzes.

The Silay City Parents-Swimmers Organization is headed by its president Glenn Blanco. Coach is Joelin Patris while chaperone is Mary Joy Ledesma.

Meanwhile, the Silay City Government will launch the 6th Mayor Oti Drivers’ Cup 2014 tomorrow, August 1, 2 p.m. at the Natalio G. Velez Sports and Cultural Center.

A total of 22 basketball teams will compete in the event.
