Monico Cup ends on Sunday

SEMIFINALISTS Barangay 10 and Singcang will finally settle who is the best when they tangle at 3 p.m. on Saturday as the 8th Monico Cup comes to a close the next day at the Bays Center in Bacolod City.

Barangays 18 and 19 have a score to settle at 4:30 p.m. in the other semifinal match each hoping to take center stage in the championship next day.

The losers will play for third at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday while the winners dispute the Cup at 3 p.m. to be followed by the awarding ceremonies at 5 p.m.


Among the participants who will receive the Sportsmanship Team Award are Banago, Estefania, Barangays 35, 16, 22 and 24.

Three outstanding referees will likewise be given awards for good performance during the tournament. There will be five sportsmanship awards for players aside from the Mythical Five recognition.

An MVP award will likewise be given during the awarding rites where Miss Monico Cup 2104 Nina Isidto of Bata will lend her presence, said tournament manager Jack Maranon yesterday.(HGD)
