Estaniel, Velez get foreign assignments

FIFA officials Dennis Estaniel and Jeffrey Velez of Negros Occidental are set to go abroad middle of August for their respective assignments.

A principal at the Montevista Elementary School, Estaniel is flying to Malaysia for the Fifa-sanctioned Futuro Referee Instructors' Course from August 13 to 18.

Estaniel is also an Asian Football Confederation regional referees' technical instructor, a Philippine Football Federation (PFF) instructor and referees assessor, and an Asean Football Federation (AFF) Assessor.


His last Fifa assignment abroad was on October 30 to November 5 during the AFF Assessor Course held in Bangkok, Thailand. He served as referee assessor during the AFF Women's Championship last September 9 to 23 in Myanmar.

Velez, a PFF referee and a MAPEH instructor at Rafael B. Lacson Memorial High School in Talisay City, was recently appointed as Fifa assistant referee in the Bolkiah Cup scheduled August 9 to 23 in Brunei. (HGD)
