Undefeated teams stake records in Monico Cup

BARANGAYS 24 and 16 (with similar 3-0 slate) take separate ways today when both undefeated squads collide in Bracket B at 4:30 p.m. of the 8th Monico Cup 21-Under at Bays Center in Bacolod City.

Maui Huelar's Barangay 35 stakes its 2-0 record against Barangay 29 (2-2) in Bracket C at 3 p.m. while Tangub (3-0) tries to extend its winning streak against Mansilingan (2-1) in Bracket D at 6 p.m.

On Sunday, Banago under coach William Descutido will try to improve its 3-0 achievement against Barangay 19, which is aiming to improve its 2-0 state in Bracket F, at 3 p.m.


Villamonte (3-0) is optimistic to make it in the next round and further bury Cabug (1-1) in Bracket E when they meet at 4:30 p.m. Bracket C's Singcang (2-1) and Granada (1-2) opens today's quadruple header at 1:30 p.m.

Tomorrow's other games pit Barangay 9 (2-1) against Barangay 23 (3-1) in Bracket B at 1:30 p.m. while Barangay 35 and Granada (1-2) face each other at 6 p.m.

The top two teams in each bracket will advance to the Magic 12, according to commissioner Jack Maranon. (HGD)
