Ceres La Salle FC tames Dolphins in UFL

CERES-LA SALLE FC tried to recover from the pain of AFC President's Cup heartbreaker to record a 9-1 victory over Dolphins United on Wednesday in the United Football League 2ndDivision at the Emperador Stadium in Taguig City.

Korean Kim Jin Ho started the fishing expedition, scoring in the 22nd minute and Oladipo Okunaiya booted in the first of his three goals in the 30th minute for a 2-0 advantage.

Cho Kyum Son joined the fray and found the back of the net in the 31st minute as Kim Jin Ho added two more in the 34th and 36th minutes for a 5-nil lead.


Dolphins’ Jared Baron never gave up and tried to spark his squad, hitting in the 37th minute. Marwin Angeles closed out the first half with his own for a 6-1 Ceres lead.

Okunaiya fired another for Ceres in the 55th minute and substitute Kevin Kapolei scored on a penalty kick in the 61st minute. Okunaiya sealed the win in the 70th minute.

Ceres LSFC key players Patrick Reichelt and Carli de Murga will miss the team's next schedules as they joined the national team for the AFC Challenge Cup starting May 20 in Maldives.
