Ceres FC to get back at Laos-A A +A
Friday, April 25, 2014
IF AT first you fail, try again.
This will be the battlecry of Ceres-La Salle FC when it takes on Laos FC at 4 p.m. on Saturday in the United Football League Division 2 at Emperador Stadium in Taguig City.
While the Bacolod-based squad prepares for their biggest challenge as a club next month in the AFC President’s Cup, its full power will be tested tomorrow against the team which dealt them their only loss (0-1) on Lexter Maravilla's shot last January.
With the power build up in preparation for UFC and AFC, the Transporters will be eyeing a revenge to erase the stigma of that lone defeat which smudged its record of 11 wins, 2 draws after 14 games.
Ceres won previously over Philippine Air Force 2-1 despite Azkals forward and Airman Ian Araneta's early goal in the 13th minute of the game. Korean reinforcement Kyum Son Cho equalized in the 23rd minute for a one-all first half.
Korean Jin Ho Kim sent home Ceres' second goal in the 47th minute and defense took over for the final score.
Starting for Coach Ali Rojas Go were keeper Michael Casas, Fil-Italian twins Marvin and Marwin Angeles, German-Italian Kevin Capolei, Jayson Panhay, Jalsor Soriano, skipper Camelo Tacusalme, and Korean reinforcements Kym Son Cho, Jin Ho Kim, Sang Min Kim, and Yong Chan Son.
Jason Cordova, William Espinosa, Angelo Marasigan, Carli de Murga, Arnie Pasinabo Jr., Korean Hyeon Woo Gwon and Guen Hyeong Park, and Younousse Yaogo completed the roster.
The win gave Leo Rey Yanson's wards 11 victories, 2 draws and a defeat with 35 points. Manila Jeepney FC trails with 10-0-4 slate (30 points). Number 3 is Laos with 9-1-4 (28 points), and Number Four, Air Force with 8-1-5 (25 points).
Korean technical director Cha Soung Yooung and Assistant Coaches James Dinsay and Ian Treyes compliment Go in the bench.
