MURCIA-HAILED golfer Juvic Pagunsan again lifted the Filipino pride after finishing second in the just-concluded $1 Million Jakarta Indonesia PGA Championship at the Damai Indah Golf’s Bumi Serpong Damai course on Monday.

The 36-year-old Negrense pride finished with 268 in a tie with Australian Rhein Gibson, and took home P3.9 million ($88,164) as Japanese Michio Matsumura scored 267 and took the top prize of $181,426 (P8 million).

Despite falling short of his title bid, it was still an impressive show for the Filipino shotmaker, who had been aiming to redeem himself since he topped the Asian Tour a decade ago where it earned him over $1.6 million.

Pagunsan started his career at the Bacolod Golf and Country Club in Hacienda Binitin in Murcia and had a remarkable amateur career with various triumphs in the Philippines, Thailand and Malaysia.

Pagunsan turned pro in 2006 wherein he qualified for the Asian Tour scoring several huge finishes in his career.
