Powerhouse St. John's Institute and University of St. La Salle-Integrated School are heading for another final battle in the mahogany court when the Negros Occidental Private Schools Sports Cultural and Educational Athletic Association (Nopsscea) semifinal round takes place on Saturday at West Negros University gym.

Many time defending champion Baby Falcons take on St. Benilde School at 8 a.m. while the Baby Stingers meet Tangub Christian Academy at 9:30 a.m. in the 10 Under division.

The older Falcons will try to keep the Aspirant title anew when it tangles with dangerous Mansilingan Christian Academy at 1 p.m. The Junior Stingers follow at 2:30 p.m.

The winners will dispute the titles on Sunday, March 16, while the losers play for third.

Nestor Ordonio, chief referee of Basketball Referees for Christ (Barc), took the officiating job after the news came out that Nopsscea is short of funds and will scrap both categories.

Barc and Nopsscea Sports Task Force chair Edwin Madlangbayan may have come to an agreement to finish the last of basketball events before classes end. (HGD)
