THE Kid Leyes and Caroline "Tata" Yanson -led Batch '86 dethroned back-to-back champion Batch '69 of Boy Geronca and Johnny Garcia in the recently-concluded 26th St. Joseph School-La Salle (SJS-LS) Alumni Duckpin Bowling Tournament sponsored by Batch '73 at Lopue's East Bowling Center.

After the elimination round, the top 10 teams had a two-game battle to determine the top five squads who would face each other in the up-the-ladder finals.

The new rules set by the host-batch resulted for the entry of B'86, Elmer Liboon-led B'78, Jun Lozada's B'83, Gary Laurico's B'72, and B'69 in the championship round.

The Geronca and Garcia-led B'69 showed resiliency by beating the three best teams in the finals but bowed out to the Leyes and Yanson-led B'86 and eventual champion of the bowling conference.

In the championship game, the bowlers of B'69 were tired and lost steam despite fighting valiantly in its losing effort against the twice-to-beat advantage of B'86 with a two-point edge.
