HUNDREDS of young and aspiring footballers across the province are expected to beat the summer heat when the Negros Occidental Football Association (Nofa) stages the 2014 U12 Boys and U13 Girls Provincial Festival of Football on March 29 and 30 and April 5 and 6 in Bacolod City.

Qualified to join these tournaments are boys born on or after January 1, 2002 and girls born on or after January 1, 2001.

The top teams in the tournament will represent the province and Nofa to the Philippine Football Federation Regional Festival of Football also in April 2014.

This event will provide more avenues for future Filipino football stars to expose themselves in a highly-competitive tournament. Furthermore, it will help the development of students and out-of-school youth in various communities in the province.

Organizers see the possibility that festival dates change due to number of participating teams. (HGD)
