Bata chess tilt winners known

AFTER grueling matches in the 4th Barangay Bata Chess Tournament, Jireh Erl Martinez and Valerio Mangubat emerged champions in the Under-12 and Under-20 categories, respectively.

Martinez scored 5.5 points and took home the P1,500 top prize and a trophy in the U12. Japeth Pimentel finished second with 4.5 points (17.5 BH) and received P1,200 cash reward. Kian Anoran settled for third with 4.5 points (15.5 BH) and pocketed P1,000.

The duo got trophies.


Finishing fourth to tenth places are Clark Ken Pelione (4.5 pts., 15.5 BH), Mark Anthony Diaz (4.0 pts., 14.0 BH), Aliah Grace Belaño (4.0 pts., 14.0 BH), Clarice Tadena (3.5 pts., 14.0 BH), John Joseph Hofileña (3.5 pts., 14.0 BH), Christian Pelione (3.5 pts., 13.5 BH), and Xander Apuyon (3.5 pts., 13.0 BH).

Each received a cash incentive of P200 and medals.

In U20, Mangubat has 5.5 points with 20.5 BH for the top prize of P1,500 and a trophy. Erl Ulette Martinez booked 4.5 points (16.5 BH) for second place picking up P1,200 and a trophy. John Vincent Belaño notched 4.5 points (16.5 BH) for third place with cash incentive of P1,000 and a trophy.

Completing the top 10 are Marjorie Bustamante (4.0 pts., 17.5 BH), John Ryan Diaz (4.0 pts., 16.0 BH), Reu Bethel Luceñara (4.0 pts., 15.5 BH), Edwin Perez (4.0 pts., 15.0 BH), John Paul Vallestero (4.0 pts., 14.5 BH), Kenan Anoran (3.5 pts., 14.0 BH), and Clark Joshua Abao (3.5 pts., 13.5 BH).

All received P200 each and medals.

Napoleon Seña topped the Inter-Purok Dama with 8.0 points followed by Morito Artizano (7.0), Eusebio Taparan (6.5), Gregorio Umadhay (6.0), and Michael Salmorin (6.0). (HGD)
