FILIPINO-German Patrick Reichelt of the Philippine Azkas recently inked a contract with Bacolod-based Ceres-La Salle Football Club, head coach Ali Bernard Go confirmed yesterday.
Acquiring the services of a veteran in the national team is part of the club’s plan in beefing up Ceres' roster for the upcoming President’s Cup. The 25-year-old midfielder who saw action for 2nd tier Singhtarua FC in Thailand has also played for Global FC in the United Football League and several German clubs.
Reichelt is a huge addition to the firepower of the reigning PFF-Smart Club national champion now tied at No. 2 with Philippine Airforce in UFL’s second tier. The Transporters have just overrun All-Japan FC, 2-0 in UFL on Friday.
The Bacolod club came out strong in the second half with J Baguiro finding the back of the net in the 69th minute. Korean Jin Ho Kim sealed the victory in the 75th minute putting Ceres-La Salle now at three wins, a loss and a draw in five games.
“We still have 17 games left and Agila FC is our next assignment. The top two teams in the second tier will advance to the league’s Division and it is still a long way to go," Go said.
Currently competing are Kevin Rob Hartmann, Younousse Yaogo, Jalsor Soriano, Hwa Seo Park, Angelo Marasigan, Thomas Louis Booth, Hyeok Gyu Goo, Samson Olaniyi, Lemuel Unabia, Oladipo Okunaiya, Jayson Panhay, William Espinosa, Jae Jin Lee; Jason Cordova, Tristan Kit Robles, Joshua Beloya, Hanesin Prince Antony, Kyum Son Cho, Camelo Tacusalme, Guen Hyeong Park, Yong Chan Son, and keepers Jae Hun Hyoun and Louie Michael Casas.
Go has assistant coach Ramon Janeo on his side and Korean Cha Soung Yooung as technical director. The Ceres-La Salle FC is managed by Leo Rey Yanson.
