AFTER a week's hiatus the 2014 Dynamic Football League returns on the Panaad pitch at Barangay Mansilingan on Saturday in Bacolod City.

U13 Group A leader Andres Bonifacio Elementary School is bent on keeping its clean record of three wins and nine points as No. 2 and reigning first runner-up University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos and No. 3 St. Scholastica’s Academy will try to improve their 2-0-1 win-draw-loss card, respectively.

No. 4 St. John’s Institute and No. 5 Philippine Normal University are also expected to perform better with a win and a pair of losses each while winless La Consolacion School-Gardenville guns for its first win.

Group B's undefeated Don Bosco Technical Institute-Victorias City aims to sustain its momentum with three wins while defending champion University of St. La Salle-Integrated School currently at No. 2 is tied with Apolinario Mabini Elementary School and Trinity Christian School with identical 2-0-1 win-draw-loss record.

ETC La Carlota City College and Bata Elementary School are in the bottom of the heap hoping to score a win.

DBTI and UNO-R enjoy the top spot of the U16 teams standing with 2-1 win-draw slate as Ramon Torres National High School tails at No. 3 with 2-0-1 win-draw-loss card. UNO-R and USLS share the No.4 and No.5 positions with a win and pair of losses while Doña Montserrat Lopez National High School is still searching for that elusive triumph.

Benefactor Ricky Yanson sees the program to bring brighter future for young and aspiring footballers. The main focus of the tournament is development, and sending the league’s champions to national or international tournaments will come later.

“Our focus right now is grassroots development but we are looking into the possibility of sending our ‘graduates’ to higher competition. We still have lots of age-groups to be developed,” he said. (HGD)
