PAGLAUM blue dominated the track and field of Panaad Stadium as the boys of Negros Occidental took home 10 golds in 17 events in the 2013 Batang Pinoy National Finals in Bacolod City.
The Negrenses outshone the competition in high, long and triple jumps and made the races warm up for the forthcoming regional meet in Antique.
Alexis Soqueño collected five golds, winning the 110m hurdles, 400m hurdles, high jump and was with the quartet who ruled the 4 x 100m and 4 x 400m relays.
Not to be outdone, relay teammate Mark John Balajeboco burned the opposition in 100m, 200m, and 400m and earned five gold medals too.
Another relay champion Jose Jerry Belibestre added the long jump title for his third gold plus a bronze in 100 meters.
Completing the quartet is Rodrigo Delaben who also pocketed the bronze in 400m hurdles. Cesar Fernandez was likewise unbeatable in triple jump and added a bronze in high jump.
Gold medal winners in the distaff side were Romerose Villanueva in long jump, Joycie Beranio in 400m run, and Riva Louise Carlo in discus throw.
Silver medalists were Mary Grace Lailen in 3,000 meters, Ailyn Tumbali in triple jump, Dianne Grace Zayco in shot put and javelin throw, and Beranio in 200m.
Bernalyn Bejoy got a bronze in 800 meters and in the 4 x 400 meter relay while the quartet of Villanueva, Tumbali, Belibestre and Beranio settled for silver in 4 x 100m relay.
