Hanah jins overall champs in Dinagyang Taekwondo

HANAH Taekwondo jins, coached by Vic Feria, emerged over-all champion in the cadet division of the Mayor Jed Patrick E. Mabilog 2014 Dinagyang Taekwondo Championships held January 25 at the Ateneo de Iloilo.

Organized by the Iloilo Taekwondo Association headed by RMC 6B Chairman Jun Diasnes, the tournament saw Keith Docado, the 2013 Smart MVP Best of the Best “best player” awardee prevailed in the cadet boys advance bantamweight.

Marcus Hinojas, the 2013 Chicago Taekwondo Open triple gold medalist, also ruled the cadet boys advance flyweight.


Defending 2013 Palarong Pambansa campaigner Caroline Dean Espinosa likewise won the gold medal in the cadet girls advance lightweight. Winche Doromal prevailed in the cadet girls advance bantamweight as Lester Paolo Escasinas captured the cadet boys advance finweight category.

Settling for silver medals are Creoz Celiz for the cadet boys advance featherweight division; 2013 Smart Nationals Champion Levi Deriada, cadet boys advance lightweight; and Ezekiel Lojares, cadet boys novice lightweight.

Chesca Cabrera settled for bronze in the cadet girls advance featherweight.

Hanah's grade school division finished second runner-up with Alyssa Trisha Hanaya, 2013 Smart national champion and regional CPJ “best player” awardee, winning the gold medal in the player 3 advance.

2013 Smart National Champion Nel Trisha Serimogan prevailed in the player 1 advance while Mary Angeline Alcantara added another gold medal in the player 2 novice.

Others shining for the Bacolod-based squad were silver medalist Stephen Ched Serimogan (player 0 Advance) and bronze medalists John Matthew Castelo (player 0 Novice), Christian Espinosa (player 4 Advance), Rodney Posecion (player 6 Novice); Gabriel Nualda (player 1 Advance), and Lemarj Nualda (player 3 Advance).
