PIHILIPPINE Football Federation-Smart Club Championship 2013 titlist Ceres-La Salle FC will represent the Philippines in the forthcoming Asian Football Confederation Club Championship Qualifier with the date and venue yet to be determined.

Ceres mentor Bernard Ali Go disclosed this development recently as the United Football League (UFL) issued the rules which required them to play first in the league’s Second Division.

“We are very excited to play in the UFL. We even wanted to play in the First Division for we want to prove that we can beat the best club in the Philippines,” Go said.

"In order to achieve this goal we are adding some Filipino and Korean players to make the team stronger. Ceres will put hardwork and dedication in our commitment to be the champion, and become a more successful club – locally and internationally,” Go added.

The Ceres coach thanked the full support of team owner Yanson family which, he said, was one of the key factors why Ceres became the champion.

He promised that they will always play good football for the fans and kids.

“We will continue our hard work and stay humble while making Negros boys the future of Philippine football" Go concluded.

The Bacolod-based club tested seventh seed Philippine Navy yesterday at the Emperador Stadium in Taguig City.

Ceres is now considered one of the country’s best football teams after its triumph over UFL favorite Global -FC in the Club Championships while finishing as quarterfinalist in the UFL Cup¬ after a disappointing 2-1 loss to the Archers.
