A FORMER street cleaner was arrested in a buy-bust by operatives of Bacolod City Police Office Special Operations Group at Galo-Lopez Jaena Streets, Barangay 27 Tuesday evening.

The suspect was identified as Juannie Villalva, 42, of Rizal-Lopez Jaena Streets.

Superintendent Jefferson Descallar, chief of SOG, yesterday said the suspect handed to a police poseur-buyer a small plastic sachet of suspected shabu in exchange of P500 marked money at around 6:30 p.m.

Police recovered from Villalva’s possession a small plastic sachet of suspected shabu, a big plastic sachet of suspected shabu, a cellular phone and P500.

Descallar said they received information that Villalva is engaged in illegal drug trade in Barangay 27.

Villalva, who is detained at the lock-up cell of Police Station 4, denied that she is a drug pusher. She admitted selling illegal drugs before, but she already stopped. She said she is a former street cleaner in Bacolod.

Meanwhile, a 36-year-old woman was also arrested by Station 9 policemen for possession of illegal drug at Barangay Sum-ag Gym Tuesday afternoon.

Arrested was Rosemar Siaton of Purok Masagana, Barangay Sum-ag.

Senior Inspector Jerrick Filosofo, commander of Police Station 9, said Siaton was collared during a visibility patrol at the Gym at about 2 p.m.

Police recovered from Siaton a small plastic sachet of suspected shabu and a lighter.

The suspect is detained at the lock-up cell of Police Station 9. (MAP)
