THE Valladolid Municipal Police Station is looking deeper into the “inside job” angle on the P260,000 robbery at field office of the Negros Occidental Electric Cooperation (Noceco) in Barangay Sagwa Banua of said town last Saturday.
Chief Inspector Luisito Acebuche, chief of Valladolid Police Station, said on Thursday they were informed by Ninfa Morante, a caretaker of Noceco, Monday morning that their field office was ransacked.
He said that based on the footages of the closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera, the incident happened at around 12:45 a.m. Saturday.
The robber, who was wearing a bonnet, destroyed the gate’s padlock and carted away the cash inside the vault. He also took a shotgun and 15 live ammunition, and a hand-held radio.
Acebuche said footages of the CCTV showed the suspect easily took the money inside the vault, showing that he already knows the number combination.
He said only the teller and his reliever has knowledge of the number combination to open the vault.
The robber also dismantled the CCTV camera, however, he left when he heard a dog barking.
