Capitol allots P12M for separation pay, benefits

THE Province of Negros Occidental has allotted P12.2 million for the separation pay and benefits of 18 employees who will be affected by the ongoing reorganization.

Of the total amount, P9.667 million will go to the separation pay while P2.535 million will go to the terminal leave benefits.

Those who will be terminated were already served notices end of July. They include two sports and games inspectors, a bookbinder and a driver at the Provincial Library Services Division, two bookbinders at the Assessors’ Office, 10 from the Provincial Cooperative Office, and two ticket checkers at the Panaad Park and Stadium.


The employees who will retire and separate from their respective jobs at the Capitol have rendered services that ranged from 23 to 41 years.

Under the reorganization, the Capitol created 372 new positions, and this needs P127.495 million, while 106 positions costing P35.114 million were abolished.

Of the new positions, 353 are under the General Fund and will cost P121.649 million, while 19 are under the Economic Enterprise Development Division (EEDD) and will cost P5.846 million.

Of the 106 positions to be abolished, 91 are under the General Fund, and 15 are under the EEDD. The abolition will cost P31.474 million and P3.64 million, respectively. (TDE
