THE City Council of Bacolod approved Wednesday a resolution requesting the Department of Public Works and Highways, the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, and local government units to put up security measures to safeguard the lives and properties of the motorists passing by the Bacolod-Silay Airport Access Road (BSAAR).

Several stone throwing incidents which caused damaged to vehicles passing the airport access road have been report.

Most of these incidents happened during the night, when the Bacolod Airport Access Road is very dark which serves as an opportunity for these unscrupulous individuals to commit such dangerous act.

The resolution, authored by Councilor Caesar Distrito, added that an inter-agency effort should be made to address the issue which concerns the welfare of the constituents not only of Bacolod City but also of Silay and Talisay cities.

If the issue will not be addressed immediately, such incident will continue and might damage more properties and cost lives, it added.
