Deeper probe on councilor slay set-A A +A

SENIOR Supterintendent Milko Lirazan, director of Negros Occidental Provincial Police Office (Noppo), said Wednesday that he directed the Ilog Municipal Police Station to conduct a deeper investigation into the killing of former Ilog councilor Edmund Turk Vail.
Lirazan said Police Chief Insp. Renante Salgado should solve the case as soon as possible.
Vail, 48, served as Ilog councilor for three terms, and was the chapter chairman of Magdalo in Ilog, and owner of the Dancalan Private Academy. Vail was killed in Barangay Dancalan on Tuesday, June 24.
Police Officer 1 Gecel de la Cruz, desk officer of Ilog police, said Vail was shot by two unidentified men on board a motorcycle using a .45 caliber pistol.
Vail was having a drinking session with friends in a store at Barangay Dancalan proper when the assailants stopped beside him and shot him several times.
Vail was rushed to a hospital in Kabankalan City where he was declared dead.
Police recovered from the scene of the crime six shells of .45 caliber revolver.
De la Cruz said they already have leads, however, he refused to divulge aby information while the operation is ongoing. (MAP)
