A RESOLUTION inquiring from the Office of Mayor Monico Puentevella as to the use of the Bacolod City plaza last week as display venue of motorcycles and appliance was approved by the City Council Tuesday.

Councilor Roberto Rojas, who authored the resolution, said it has been observed last week that a certain business establishment made the plaza a display venue for their products.

“This august body recognizes that any request for the use of the public plaza should pass through the Council for its approval may it be for commercial, civil or social purposes,” the resolution said.

For the past several sessions, no request coming from the concerned establishment had been calendared in the agenda of the Council for its approval, yet they were able to put up canopies and other portable display stalls, showcasing their products, the resolution said.

Allowing them to display their products without the approval of the Council is disrespect to the authority of the Sanggunian, the resolution added. (CNC)
