TWO persons were killed in separate shooting and stabbing incidents in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental on Good Friday.
Police identified the victims as Luisito Laurita, 45, of Barangay Orong, Kabankalan City, and Chrisline Arriola, 31, of Barangay Manalad, Ilog.
Records from Negros Occidental Provincial Police Office (Noppo) showed Laurita was stabbed by a 17-year-old boy due to misunderstanding.
Investigation conducted by Police Officer 3 (PO3) Tricia Mercano showed at 3:30 p.m., while Laurita and the suspect were having drinking spree at Purok Tuburan, Barangay Orong, a misunderstanding ensued between them.
Laurita was rushed to the Dr. Gumersindo Garcia Sr. Memorial Hospital where he was declared dead.
The suspect voluntarily surrendered to Kabankalan City Police Station.
Arriola was shot by Juan Miguel Garcia, 36, of Kabankalan City at Sitio Malasbalas, Barangay Orong, at 12:05 a.m., Noppo records show.
She was brought to Southern Negros Hospital but she was pronounced dead.
Police recovered from the scene of the crime a colt .45 caliber, two cartridges of .45 caliber, and a magazine of .45 caliber.
The Kabankalan City police are still conducting further investigation to determine the motive of the suspect, who is still at-large. (MAP)
