THE Capitol-run Mambukal Resort in Murcia town, one of the premier tourist destinations in Negros Occidental, is fully-booked for the Holy Week break.
Resort manager Ellen Marie Vasquez said on Tuesday the resort’s total capacity of 95 rooms will be full for the rest of the week.
The resort’s accommodation includes 44 cottages, 20 villas, three family cottages, 18 dormitory rooms, and 10 tourist lodges.
"However, our picnic huts are still open for those who want to stay only during the day," Vasquez said.
She said that as part of the resort's security measures for the expected increase of visitor arrivals, they are deploying security guards who will be augmented by personnel of Murcia Municipal Police Station.
"We have implemented a no day-off policy during the Holy Week starting Thursday. We have required all employees assigned at the resort to report to work," she added.
Vasquez said that additional lifeguards as well as personnel from the Provincial Disaster Management Division have also been assigned to the resort.
"We also have a stand-by ambulance," she said.
Vasquez urged visitors to follow the resort policies on the use of its facilities "for their own safety."
Those who will occupy the rooms should always secure their valuables despite the presence of security personnel.
Continuous rains brought by the low pressure area have made the resort even cooler, Vasquez said.
