ALL police stations in Bacolod City were directed by city police director Larry Decena to tighten checkpoint operations to arrest robbery suspects on board vehicles.

Decena issued the directive during a command conference held Friday at the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) headquarters attended by all 10 station chiefs.

“Address robbery and snatching incidents within your areas of jurisdiction that involve suspects on board vehicles, including tricycles and motorcycles,” he said.

Since last week, four persons walking by the roadside have been robbed by unidentified men on board vehicles. The latest incident happened Friday morning at Gonzaga-Lacson Streets where a woman lost her cash and personal belongings to three snatchers on board a tricycle.

Decena said he will issue a warning to station chief who fail to address the robbery and snatching incidents within their respective areas of responsibility.

The BCPO chief added that he is also planning to set a time frame for station chiefs to solve the robbery incidents.

“If they fail to solve two successive robbery incidents, they will be imposed a sanction equivalent to relief from their post,” Decena said.

Intensify visibility patrol operations to preempt the possible operation of criminals, he also told the station chiefs.
